My son hunts with both rifle and bow. He hunts deer but has been given a Christmas "hunt for elk". Is there any equipment he would be grateful to have for this hunt? He wants to try and get the elk with his bow and mentioned arrows but I know nothing about them. I can’t afford an expensive rifle but maybe I could find a used one. Any help from experienced hunters would be appreciated.

If you want to go for a memorable gift, get him a buck knife with his initials engraved. I still have mine my grand father gave me and it has come in handy a lot when hunting.
